All Roxbury Students participate in Music, Art, Physical Education, and Media Studies weekly.   Classes are fourty minutes daily.   These programs provide students with an enhanced learning experience as the standards in these areas are aligned with the academic standards, and provide students to apply and develop various talents.  

Music and Art are an integral component of the comprehensive curriculum provided to all Connecticut students at every grade. They play an essential role in the daily lives of citizens and are essential to the expression of human experience. An understanding and appreciation of the arts, as well as the ability to participate in the arts, are essential attributes of an educated person

Planned, sequential PK-12 physical education provides psychomotor, cognitive and affective content and learning experiences that promote optimum personal development. Quality curriculum and instruction, provided in a safe, supportive environment, offer meaningful, challenging learning for all students, and result in lifetime learning outcomes of skills, literacy, and ability to understand concepts and develop plans for lifetime physical activity and wellness.

Media Studies provides students with an understanding of how to access materials in a library, including technology and the internet.   Students are immersed in quality literature and research that contributes to their ability to develop and pursue their own interests.   The Media Center also houses our computer lab.   In addition to receving instruction in accessing techology during Media Studies, all students receive instruction in the computer lab at least once weekly with their classroom teachers.
