Dear Families,
The children have adjusted nicely to our busy schedule.
The children have been learning the rituals and routines of Reader's and Writer's Workshop. In Phonics, they are busy learning letter identification, letter sounds and high frequency words. Please continue to read the sight words every day and practice letter sounds. Book-in-a-Bag goes home every Monday and comes back to school on Friday. Our Everyday Math Program keeps them busy with 8 routines and wonderful math activities. The children are busy counting forwards and backwards, patterning and sorting. In science, the children are learning about goldfish,guppies and other living things.
Upcoming events are Character Assemblies, a field trip to the Stamford Ferguson Library, Halloween Parade, Veteran's Day. Details on all events including permission slips will be forth coming.
Please continue to empty your child's back pack everyday. Thank you for doing papers marked homework and returning them the next day. We check folders and any important information that we need to know should be in writing as we don't always get a chance to check e-mails during the day. Important notices will be sent home in writing.
