Dear Parents and Guardians,

 

We hope you all have had a refreshing summer!  As the start of the new school year fast approaches, we want you to know that we are looking forward to seeing you again or meeting you for the first time.  We know the year ahead will be exciting, rewarding and filled with good experiences for us all.   Elementary School is a very powerful experience for young children.   We also look forward to working with you throughout the year as we strive to provide the highest level of programs and services for our students. 

The first day of school for Kindergartners is Thursday, August 28th.   This orientation will be from 9:00a.m. to 11:00 a.m.   We encourage you to attend the orientation with your child so that you may meet the teachers your child will be working with and begin to learn your way around the school.   We will also offer a short orientation for parents at 9:30 in the Forum (Auditorium) while the children are getting to know their friends and teachers.  

 

The first day for everyone else is Friday, August 29th from 9:00a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You should receive bus information in the mail by Tuesday, August 26th.   Bus schedules will also be posted in The Sunday Advocate on August 24th.   If you have questions about your child’s bus schedule, please call 977-4248.  

 

On your child’s first day, you will receive an envelope in his or her book bag that will contain the Parent Handbook, ROPE (PTO) information, and any other items of importance.   We also ask that you carefully review and read all notices that are sent home with your child daily throughout the school year.   Most procedures and technical questions are answered in the Student Handbook. Taking a few minutes each evening to peek into your child’s book bag daily will provide your child with an immeasurable amount of help in getting and staying organized, as well as supporting home-school communication.   We remind you that the entire staff is available to help you with your concerns or questions.  Please do not hesitate to call for an appointment.  We encourage hearing from you.
